Night two on Route 66, after a short hop from Seligman. Williams is bigger and livelier in the evening, full of 66 nostalgia, and ~1 h from the Grand Canyon’s south entrance.
Options

Red Garter Inn, Williams
First choice. An 1897 saloon and bordello across from the Grand Canyon Railway depot, restored into a four-room inn. The rooms are Madam’s Room, Best Gal’s Room, Big Bertha’s Room and The Parlor, and graffiti left by early-1900s visitors survives on some walls. Reviews are excellent. Not a motel — upstairs rooms, no elevator, check-in from 4 pm. Said to be haunted.

Canyon Motel & RV Park, Williams
Backup. 1939 motor lodge in the pine forest on the east edge of town. Besides the stone motel rooms it rents two 1929 cabooses and a 1950s Pullman railcar as rooms — book early for those.
With only four rooms, the Red Garter is the one to book early.
